Sporting Saturday

Sporting Saturday
26th February 2018

Last Saturday saw the Peterborough Phantoms Para Ice Hockey Team join local sporting groups at Inspire Peterborough’s Sporting Saturday event.

Now in it’s 5th year, Sporting Saturday showcases Peterborough’s finest inclusive and disability sports and activities. It featured demonstrations and “have a go” taster sessions of a number of different sporting activities, and the Phantoms stand proved very popular with everyone wanting a go in one of our adapted sledges.

The day gave us the opportunity not only to promote the sport to the large crowd, but also the upcoming 2018 league games.

The Mayor of Peterborough, Councillor John Fox, along with Peterborough’s Member of Parliament Fiona Onasanya both tried out the sledges and both are keen to come and watch the Phantoms in action and try it out on the ice.

Next up for the Phantoms In The Community team is the Paralympic Heritage event in Norwich in early March.
