Sunday morning saw an early start for Phantoms Chair Naomi Adie, as she travelled to Hemel Hempstead to work with Whisper Films and Channel 4 on their final show of the 2018 Winter Paralympics.

It was Whisper Films who commissioned Parable VR to produce the 360 Virtual Reality video, which featured Naomi and her Phantoms colleagues last year, as part of the Paralympics tender.

Sunday’s show featured Naomi and former GB Para Ice Hockey Paralympian Richard Whitehead discussing the sport, the equipment used and also the USA v Canada Gold Medal game. Whitehead was a member of the last GB Para Ice Hockey Team to make the Winter Paralympics in Turin 2006, before turning to Athletics and the Summer Paralympics.

Naomi also got to meet local Paralympian, and Channel 4 Paralympics resident action man Jonnie Peacock.

With the sport of Para Ice Hockey receiving primetime coverage on Channel 4 during the Winter Paralympics, and members of the GB Team featuring alongside Adam Hills, Alex Brooker and Josh Widdicombe on the Last Leg last weekend, the sport has never had so much publicity.

With the Paralympics over, the Phantoms focus now turn to the 2018 British League which all kicks off on the 12th May at the Planet Ice Arena in Peterborough.
